Does uCMDB support REST for webservices

Jump to solution

Hi,

We are using HP UD 10.10 CP: 13.0.1179 on Windows OS.

We are using Webservices to pull the data from UCMDB to another application. This application supports both SOAP and REST services.

Please can you confirm if the REST service is been supported by UCMDB so that we can use this for pulling the data from UCMDB as we are facing challenges through SOAP.

Thanks in advance.

Yes it does, but it’s disabled by default. To enable it:

1)      go to <Install dir>\UCMDBServer\deploy\axis2\WEB-INF\conf\axis2.xml

2)      change the from <parameter name="enableRESTInAxis2MainServlet" locked="true">false</parameter> to <parameter name="enableRESTInAxis2MainServlet" locked="true">true</parameter>

Re: Does uCMDB support REST for webservices

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I have 2 queries on this as below:

- After performing the above change on the uCMDB server, is it required to restart the uCMDB server?

- Also will the getCIsByType, getFilteredCIsByType and other methods work the same like passing of parameters to get the response as we did in SOAP.

And if there is anything which we need to keep in mind while using the REST for pulling the data from uCMDB.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, a restart of the UCMDB server is required. The REST contains the same methods as the SOAP protocol, because of this you'll have to fill in the parameters required by each method. I don't know of any restrictions related to using REST with UCMDB.
