Enrichment Manager

We create an enrichment rule and when we activate, it indicates an error at the point of integration. For what the enrichment rule works, we have to have the integration point disabled.

Do you have any problem about it?

Thank you.

Hello Jose,

did you try to add InstalledSW in the autodeletion for the Inventory adapter?

This is what it should do if it doesn't find anymore a CIT which was previously discovered.

Kind regards,

Hello John,

In the automatic scanner, software removal is activated and is managed correctly.

We have the problem in the manual scanner. If we mark it automatically, it eliminates all of the software and Microfocus support told us to do it through an enrichment rule. Disabling the integration points, the rule Works correctly, but once we have the integration points actived, it gives an error.

Can you think something?

Regards.

Maybe this is a problem of altering the topology (the delteion of the CIs) while data-in is happing from external sources. Again, I would recommend avoiding the enrichment rule. One possible workaround would be to duplicate the file ParseEnrichedScanFile.py and reference the duplicate in the ParseManuallyEnrichedScanFile.py. In the duplicate file you can comment out the part where InstalledSW is modeled into the result vector (mapInstalledSoftware, createSoftwareOSH, createOsInstalledSoftware, processIncludeExclude, createInstalledSoftwareOsh, processApplicationSignature and getInstalledSoftwareAndServiceFromResult)
.

Hello John,

OK yes. This solution would be fine, but we need the software each CI Node has to appear at all times. If we uninstall software on that node, when the computer is scanned manually, thew data is correctly reflected in the uCMDB and this solution isn't correct in our case.

Regards.

I see in the adapter source code of the Manul scanner that automatic deletion is not enabled. Did you try to enable it?
<resultMechanism isEnabled="true">
<autoDeleteCITs isEnabled="false" />
<automaticTouch isEnabled="true" />
</resultMechanism>

The parseEnrichedScanFile.py can be found in Adapter Management.
What was the error after enabling the Deletion mechanism?
