Failed to connect to HTTP using UCMDB Local Client 2018.11

Jump to solution

Dear All,

The UCMDB Web UI can be opened normally through IE(HTTP&HTTPS), but an error is displayed when using the UCMDB Local Client 2018.11 to connect to HTTP.

There is no problem when using the UCMDB Local Client 2018.11 to connect to HTTPS.

Checking at UCMDB_Local_Client.log, I found the following error when connecting http failed:

2019-01-25 09:48:55 ERROR LocalClientsManager:304 - Failed to connect to http://10.13.15.173:8080/ucmdb-ui/login_page.jspjava.lang.ClassCastException: sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection cannot be cast to javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection

I think this is the defect of UCMB Local Client 2018.11.

When I use UCMDB Local Client 2018.05, there is no problem connecting HTTP.

Is there any workaround or is it will be repaired in the latest version?

Thanks,

Tian

Hello,

your right. I encounter the same problem. I have reported it to MF SW support already. It seems to be pure bug of the local client. Ivan

Hello Ivan,

Thanks for your reply !

I got the reply from R&D in my case just now.

This is a defect of UCMDB Local Client 2018.11. And it will be fixed in UCMDB Local Client 2019.02.

Thanks,

Tian

Where can we download the UCMDB Local Client for 2019.02 - just upgraded OBM to 2018.11 and we are not planning to upgrade again for several months... 😞

Only reason I'm trying to use this solution, the account wants to uninstall Java from our jump servers, and while Palemoon works, it's only a matter of time before we'll be forced to find another way to access.

You can use the latest Local Client which is compatible from UCMDB 10.33 up to 2019.05

Thank you!

I got the downloaded package, and in the mean time I was able to get the 2018.11 Local Client to work for me by changing the default settings to use https, and port 443.

I like the Local Client much better than the Palemoon browser, besides I couldn't get flash to install, so it only worked for UCMDB/RTSM anyway...

Best Regards,

Craig
