HP UD Probe 10.20 installation error

Hello,

I am trying to install HP UD 10.20 probe but it keeps throwing an error that DB port 5432 is not free.

I have checked with the windows team and was told that all ports are opened and firewall and Antivirus disabled.

Below is the error message:

Re: HP UD Probe 10.20 installation error

Hi,

Please provide us with more information about the system. WIndows  or Linux (Unix)? etc.

The postgres database is listening on port 5432.

In the log you sent you find the following error message:

Connection refused. Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the postmaster is accepting TCP/IP connections.

Please make sure you are using the right hostname or IP address and user credentials.

Good luck

Re: HP UD Probe 10.20 installation error

Try loggin to your  Server database managemnt Studio to confirm your port number is the same as earnmarked -5432.

Also speak with DB team to check the connection and the schema account has admin rights

Re: HP UD Probe 10.20 installation error

I got the exaclty same problem.

OS: windows 2008 R2

The server was earlier 10.01 probe, that was uninstalled and deleted application folder (as best practice guide instructed to perform).

No other services uses port 5432 on the host - checked.  so - theres should be no reason to change that config ( as it also is a option).

What to do ??
I have tested on 3 different probes - 6 more to go.. but the issue keeps repeating on every probe..

Please help ..

Re: HP UD Probe 10.20 installation error

On server OS - event viewer - information message was noticed:

The server regional language format norwegian bokmål was not supported.

I changed the regional setting from norwegian to English (UK), and then installation of probes DB was fine.

Actually The HP support get noticed that this was by design, according to support matrix for 10.20.

Problem solved
