High Availability configuration

Jump to solution

Hi all,

I’m working with a customer who is implementing a High Availability solution for UCMDB and wants to set “writer inactivity period threshold” with a value between 60 and 120 seconds. Do you see any inconvenience? Any good / bad experience with it?

After “writer inactivity period threshold” seconds without any answer from the writer UCMDB instance, it’s considered as dead and other UCMDB instance gets the writer role. This parameter is set to 240 seconds by default.

Thanks in advance,

Hello Borja,

The parameter is:
ha.writer.inactivity.period.threshold = 240
Restarting of all UCMDB services of the HA cluster will be required so the change to take effect.
That period could bear useful values between 120 and 1200. If you decrease the time to 120, you may often experience restarting of the server during a high load.
Just rig your value to each server and monitor the log named cmdb.ha.log.

Best Regards,
Nikola
