Host Ressources by Shell / Host Applications by Shell

We use ucmdb 10.11 CUP2 CP 14.

Under DiscoveryModules -> Host and Resources find this 2 jobs. They seem to be identical. Can somebody explain why we have this identical jobs with different names? When there is a difference: When should we use which job?

Re: Host Ressources by Shell / Host Applications by Shell

Hi ,

Thank you for your question.

As you finding, the Host Resources by Shell and Host Application by Shell job use the same adapter. However, their purposes are different by their out-of-box job parameters. The Host Resources by Shell mainly focuses on hardware related resources, such as CPU, disk memory of target host. The Host Application by Shell job mainly focuses on applications running on the target host. So you can decide to run which job by what you want to be discovered.
