How do you amend the UCMDB default tenant?

Hi Experts,

UCMDB 10.11 with CP14 installed with Multi-Tenancy (MT) enabled.

Initial discovery has been performed resulting in all CIs having a Consumer Tenant & Owner Tenant = "System Default Tenant". We now wish to amend the default tenant to "CustomerName". Is there a recommended procedure to do this?.

I've come up with the two option below. Which one is the most appropriate?. Are there any additional steps required?. Are there any "gotchas" to be aware off?

Option 1:

a. Rename the "System Default Tenant" to "CustomerName" (via Security > Tenants Management).
b. Confirm "CustomerName" is the default tenant (via JMX Console - UCMDB:service=Tenant Management Services).
c. Write an enrichment (tenant association) rule to update existing CI data (Consumer & Owner Tenant fields) with the new tenant.

Option 2:

a. Add a new tenant ("CustomerName") via Security > Tenants Management (i.e. leave the OOB "System Default Tenant" alone).
b. Set "CustomerName" as the default tenant (via JMX Console - UCMDB:service=Tenant Management Services).
c. Write an enrichment (tenant association) rule to update existing CI data (Consumer & Owner Tenant fields) with the new tenant.

Thanks in advance

Chris

Re: How do you amend the UCMDB default tenant?

Hello Chris,

I would recomend that you follow the second option wich is to create a new tenant and updating the CIs so that they are associated to that new tenant instead of the default one
