How to create views for automate the physical connection between switches and servers in HP-UCMDB 10

Jump to solution

How we can create the physical connection which exist in envrionment between switches and servers in  HP-UCMDB. We are discovering Switches using host connection by SNMP and servers using host connection by Shell. We want to automate the views so that end user can see which server is connected to which switch. Please suggest how we can acheive the same in UCMDB.

The best way is to use a tool desinged for that (like NNMi) and import those relationships.

Hope this helps,

I believe you have to implement Layer 2 discovery.  There is a chapter in the discovery modules guide about this.  You will have something like this.   server -->  interface --> Layer 2 conection CI <-- interface <-- switch.

Then you can build an enrichment to create the relationships between the servers and switches.
