Identifying the volatility of environment

Just looking for suggestions.  I am trying to track the volatility of our environment by identifying newly created nodes on regular intervals (monthly) and nodes that have aged out in this same interval. Any ideas how I can track this information over time?  Perhaps using candidates for deletion?

Thanks,

Re: Identifying the volatility of environment

Isn't that possible by utilizing actual and authorized state?
