Incorrect AM Software Push Reconciliation from UCMDB 10.01 Cup9 to AM 9.31

We have UCMDB 10.01 CUP9 pushing into Asset Manager 9.31.  The software is not always pushing into AM correctly. 

We have 2 issues:
  - Some valid software gets incorectly set to Missing
  - Some software gets duplicated during each push

 
For example, assume a server with the following software:
- HP UCMDB Data Flow Probe (class=installed_software)
- HP Universal Discovery Agent (class=installed_software)
- Microsoft.NET Framework (class=installed_software)
- Microsoft.NET Framework (class=installed_software) (different folder)
- MySQL Server (class=installed_software)
- Silverlight (class=installed_software)
- VMware Tools (class=installed_software)
- Windows Server (class=installed_software)
- Software Utilization (associated with the Windows Server software installation)

 
The full synchronization of Installed Software was pushed into AM 4 times.

 
The computer in Asset Manager now contains the following softwware:
- HP UCMDB Data Flow Probe 10 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- HP Universal Discovery Agent 10 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- Microsoft.NET Framework V4 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- Microsoft.NET Framework V4 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- MySQL Server V5 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- MySQL Server V5 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- MySQL Server V5 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- MySQL Server V5 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- Silverlight V4 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- VMware Tools 8 (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- Windows Server (Type=Utilization, bMissing=Yes) (no user)
- Windows Server (Type=Installation, bMissing=Yes)
- Windows Server (Type=Utilization, bMissing=No) (user #1)
- Windows Server (Type=Utilization, bMissing=No) (user #2)

 
There should be 8 valid software installations and 2 software utilizations but software installations become missing inconsistenly* and some of the software is duplicated during every run.

 

For the duplicate software: We are normalizing the software. I reviewed the UCMDB properties of the MySQL Server installed software CI to the the SAI number. I had a record in the Asset Manager Inventoried Models table that matched the software by name and version but not by SAI number. I manually populated the AM Inventoried Models table with a record that matched PDI + the SAI number and I the software is no longer duplicated. Isn't UCMDB supposed to automatically populate the AM Inventoried Models table when a new software model is discovered?

As you are aware, Asset Manager has specific requirements for data. It should be populated either by DDMi connected directly or from UD-uCMDB by running inventory discovery.

 

Did you go over the documentation for such integration at http://support.openview.hp.com/sc/solutions/integrations.jsp?intid=616.

 

Can you confirm all mandatory steps under Set Up Asset Manager for Push of "Discovery and Integration Content Guide - Integrations" guide has been followed?

 

If so, a Support ticket may need to be open to further look into the issue encountered.

The system is not connected to the outside internet so I cannot provide screens

Yes, I am aware that AM should be populated ...from UD-uCMDB by running inventory discovery.
