Ipaddress and MAC address from Interface

Jump to solution

I have an IPaddress attribute called MacAddress. The Mac address of an Interface is it's Mac address.  I would like to use an ER to bring the Mac Address or display name to the IPaddress Mac Address attribute.

1. Is this possible and if yes will it be accurate?
2. Can I create the ER for particular IP addresses as a test?

I created an ER with the IPaddress as the Parent of the Interface and then set a 1 to 1 Cardinality and in Enrichment set Action to Update, Set Attributes to MAC ADDRESS = Interface(0):MacAddress.

But I cannot get it to populate.

Ideas?

Thanks in Advance

Create an enrichment rule, Make a new query that relates interface with IPAddress

Select IpAddress and set the attribute User Label (or if you created a new atribute use the new one) and assign the value interface; MacAddress.

Go to administration > Scheduler > Create a new entry for the Enrichment Rule.

There isn't really a discovered relationship between the two... I think you'd have to bake it into a discovery script if you wanted to add this and have it be accurate.
