Issue accessing Configuration Manager using DNS alias

Hi all,

Customer is running UCMDB 10.21 CUP1  on windows 2012 R2

Customer has created DNS aliases to access the UCMDB UI's (UCMDB, Configuration Manager & Browser). UCMDB & Browser work OK with the alias address but we have an issue logging into Configuration Manager using the DNS alias. CM can be accessed successfully via LW-SSO but not by entering a u/n & p/w. After entering u/n & p/w and clicking Login the login page is redisplayed.

The issue is with the way UCMDB builds the CM login URL.

In infrastructure setting I have the Configuration Manager URL = http://<CM DNS alias>:8180/cnc

When I click on the "UCMDB Configuration Manager" link it builds the URL below,

http://ucmdbserver.FQDN:8080/ucmdb-ui/login_page.jsp?forwarURlForLoginPageParam=http://<CM DNS Alias>:8180/cnc/&LWMDSSO_RES=sdt=NO_COOKIE&product-name=HP%20Universal%20CMDB%20Configuration%20Manager&product-id=cm

You can't login to CM using the above URL (when you enter the user credentials and click Login it just displays the login screen again)

You can login using the URL below,

http://<UCMDB DNS Alias>:8080/ucmdb-ui/login_page.jsp?forwarURlForLoginPageParam=http://<CM DNS Alias>:8180/cnc/&LWMDSSO_RES=sdt=NO_COOKIE&product-name=HP%20Universal%20CMDB%20Configuration%20Manager&product-id=cm

This is the URL I need returned when I click on the  "UCMDB Configuration Manager" link

So I need to figure out why UCMDB is using the ucmdb server FQDN rather than the DNS Alias when it builds the link.

Has anyone come across this before?. Is there a bit of configuration I'm missing someplace?.

Any tips greatly appreciated.
