Issue while uploading manual Database CI data from xls file into uCMDB

Hi,

We are using HP UD 10.10 CP 13.0.1179 on Windows OS.

We have discovered database CIs in our environment. Also we have created some custom attributes for database CIs which cannot be discovered in uCMDB.

I have created integration using xls adapter to populate this data into uCMDB. But the data is not getting updated and I am recieving error. I have added the "root_container" attribute as well in the xls sheet.

I have attached the xls mapping and communication log for reference.

Please can anybody help me in resolving this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Issue while uploading manual Database CI data from xls file into uCMDB

 Hi,

Instead of fixing the xls you have, I'd like to explain how it works. Below is identification part of reconciliation rule for running software CIT used to reconcile DB CIs you are sending.

There are three types of minimal data set that needs to be provided.

1. root_container with connected by Usage link IpServiceEndpoint CI

2. Product_name and root_container.

3. discovered_product_name and root_container

This is a minimal set of data that need to be provided for proper reconciliation of DB CIs.

I'm almost sure the failure is within reconciliation layer.

Please check cmdb.reconciliation.log on the server side for error.

    <identification-criteria>
 1.       <identification-criterion>
            <attribute-condition attributeName="root_container" includeNullValue="false" conditionType="approveAndContradict"/>
            <connected-ci-condition ciType="ip_service_endpoint" linkType="usage" conditionType="approveAndContradict">
                <overlap-fixed-operator number-of-matches="1"/>
            </connected-ci-condition>
        </identification-criterion>
 2.       <identification-criterion>
            <attribute-condition attributeName="product_name" includeNullValue="false" conditionType="approveAndContradict"/>
            <attribute-condition attributeName="root_container" includeNullValue="false" conditionType="approveAndContradict"/>
        </identification-criterion>
 3.       <identification-criterion>
            <attribute-condition attributeName="discovered_product_name" includeNullValue="false" conditionType="approveAndContradict"/>
            <attribute-condition attributeName="root_container" includeNullValue="false" conditionType="approveAndContradict"/>
        </identification-criterion>
    </identification-criteria>

Re: Issue while uploading manual Database CI data from xls file into uCMDB

Hi Dima,

Thanks for the reply.

Option 2 and 3 are not working because the Product Name and Discovered Product Name attributes are not present in the "sqldatabase" CI type.

For option 1, I am unable to create the correct xls.

Please can anyone share the sample xls for the same would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance

Hi

Have you added the columns Product Name and Discovered Product Name in to your excel sheet and do they have values in it?

Hi Ashok,

Discovered Product Name and Product Name attributes are not present in "sqldatabase" CI Type in uCMDB.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I think you have mapped a wrong value in your Excel sheet. the root_container should hold the Server/host name rather than the UCMDB ID.

Attaching the screenshot of SQL Server CI having Product and Discovered Product names...

Please find below an example of export file with root_container on it.

Kudos goes to Herr Pashcal.

Re: Issue while uploading manual Database CI data from xls file into uCMDB

Hi Dima,

I am refering to the "sqldatabase" CI type which does not have the "Product Name" and "Discovered Product Name" attributes present.

I have attached the screenshot for reference.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Did you try to modify your sheet with Server Name instead of UCMDB ID ?
