Lot of network CI type CI instances are getting deleted

Dear All

We suddenly see lot of Network Device CI type instances are been deleted from CMS.

Is there any way we can find how this is been deleted based on log files and who has deleted these CIs.

We are sure that CI aging is set to false.

IF aging deleted them, you will need to find out why they werențt being updated/touched.

To brief you these are CIs pulled to UCMDB from NNMi and then pushed to OMI.

We see lot of CIs aging is set to true in both OMI and UCMDB, however deletion of CIs happen only in OMI.

In UCMDB the CIs are intact, is there any way we can find out why they are not updated or touched.

Can you grep the RTSM logs to see what event deletes them?

I further checked and found OMI has global setting for Enable aging which takes precedence and aging process is started and deleting the CI's. I believe aging attribute set under CI type manager is not taken into consideration.

The only solution which I think so far is disable global setting, but that will disable for all CI types.

Other solution I think is to write Enrichment query and try to touch last updated CI attribute, but I am not sure whether it will work.

I would avoid enrichments.
The CIs should be updated through dataIn, there's the area to investigate.

Hi

Please clarify what do you mean by datain.

DataIN, CIs coming in to UCMDB from:

  • discovery
  • pull integrations
  • manually created CIs
  • CIs altered by enrichments
