ORA-12899: value too large for column "CMDB"."LOA"."CI" (actual: 115, maximum: 100)

Jump to solution

Hi ,

We have just upgraded uCMDB to 2019.05 from 10.33 CUP2.

IP Discovery job & Host Connection by Shell job is working fine.

But, Vmware Vcenter Connection and VMware Vcenter Topolgy jobs are not working even for single Vcenter (out of 12 vcenters) and these jobs throws following error.

<< Progress message, Severity: Fatal>>

Error processing results, for more details please check UCMDB server log files

Recommended log files on UCMDB: error.log, cmdb.reconciliation.log, mam.autodiscovery.log >>

When we check in cmdb.reconciliation.log & error.log, we get following error.

ORA-12899: value too large for column "CMDB"."LOA"."CI" (actual: 115, maximum: 100)

We suspect this column size mismatch could be the issue for VMware Vcenter job results not getting processed.

Any help is appreciated in resolving the issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Rohit S

Hi

VMware Vcenter Discovery started working, issue got resolved by increasing the size of CI column to 200

Database : CMDB

Table: LOA

Column: CI - column length increased from 100 to 200

Thanks & Regards,

Rohit S

We saw there was similar issue documented as per KM (https://softwaresupport.softwaregrp.com/doc/KM01158143) where there is an error for column size mismatch with the actual value received.

NNMi Pull ORA-12899 "DDM_TEMP_DISCOVERY_RESULTS"."OBJECTID" (actual: 52, maximum: 43)

We would like to know how quickly we can fix this column size issue which comes in VMware Vcenter discovery jobs [ORA-12899: value too large for column "CMDB"."LOA"."CI" (actual: 115, maximum: 100)]

Note, we are already on latest uCMDB version (2019.05).

Thanks & Regards,

Rohit S
