Probe Integration service is not upgraded during upgrade of 10.21 to 10.22

Hi All,

we have upgraded ucmdb from 10. 21  to 10.22, followed all steps in the release document, and we have choosed option for automatically update dataflow probes. and Upgrade was successfull. But we see below issues post upgrade

1.viewsystem information from jmx console shows probe integration service as previous version only,

2. Out of 4 probes only one probe was autiomatically updated post 10.22 upgrade, remaining 3 probes despite waiting for long time, they were not updated automatically, we had manually upgraded using probe patch , status shows connected, but no communicaiton happenning from ucmdb to probe. and we can see below errors.

[Heart Beat Thread] (ProbeTasksDistributerPull.java:896) - Can't retrieve tasks from the Server - Some IO error occurred (Check if the server is up)

Anyone has faced similar issues, please share with us, it would be great help.

Thanks

Pranathi.

Hello Pranathie ,

I suggest to create a ticket to start a deep investigation on the Probe that are facing the issue .

Re: Probe Integration service is not upgraded during upgrade of 10.21 to 10.22

Hello,

I am a new user with all things uCMDB but I did come across this note in the release notes and thought it might be helpful in your quest for an answer.

Check out this site for the release notes: https://softwaresupport.hpe.com/km/KM02720871/hp_man_UCMDB10.22CUP5_ReleaseNotes_pdf.jpg (Change this file extension to PDF)

On page twelve they reference that if you have a mulitcustomer setup that probes will not automatically update.

When upgrading the Data Flow Probe:

o In a multi-customer environment, if the Data Flow Probe is not automatically upgraded to the

latest CUP version, use the manual upgrade procedure to upgrade the Probe manually. For

details on the manual upgrade procedure, see "How to Deploy a Data Flow Probe CUP

Manually" in the HPE Universal CMDB Data Flow Management Guide.

o The automatic upgrade is not available for Data Flow Probes running on Linux. Use the manual

upgrade procedure to upgrade the Probe manually.

o The Data Flow Probe upgrade is only available for upgrades for minor-minor releases or

upgrades between CUP releases. When performing an upgrade to a major or minor release, you

must reinstall the Probe.

l If you encounter an error when installing the CUP under Linux on the /tmp directory because the

/tmp directory is configured not to run executables, set the IATEMPDIR environment variable to a

location with sufficient permissions and disk space. The IATEMPDIR variable is recognized by

InstallAnywhere.
