Questions in UCMDB Integration

Hi Experts,

We are in process of integrating UCMDB with Asset Manger.. The Integration works fine with Asset Manager Push Adapter. But We are getting some devices failed due to some reasons we need those failed device information getting entered in a separate log or a csv file. Just only the device and its cause of failure. Is it possible to do that with Asset Manager Push adaptor or any other way.

The second question is that can we query the AM Database before  inserting the data's from UCMDB to Asset Manager. If yes Please let me know If I could find any related documents for that.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Questions in UCMDB Integration

You cannot export the error messages into csv for integration jobs. For the second question, I would suggest to open a ticket with support to get further help.

Re: Questions in UCMDB Integration

Hi,

Is it possible to write a function in Groovy script, So that for every insertion it just logs details of the device processed into Asset Manager.

Re: Questions in UCMDB Integration

This you could try to insert in the logfile itself.

But amount of data would be more and log file can be overwritten.

Re: Questions in UCMDB Integration

Thanks Bravi,

Ya that's right.. Can we build report based on the devices which are processed and the Devices which failed to process into Asset Manager. As we just wanted to know how many devices are getting through the Push Adapter integration.

Re: Questions in UCMDB Integration

At least out of box, this dont exists.

From AM, you might get the report of which are succesful, but failure one you cannot get there , because AM will not know that. There should be some mechanism in AM to get the newly created device.

you can only do the tql result in ucmdb which is being used for the push, and export the result and then compare with AM report for the succesful ones.

It is just my idea.

Re: Questions in UCMDB Integration

Don't you get the ucmdbid back fill into AM once the record has made it to UCMDB? Provided you know the starting batch of records being sent from AM to UCMDB then the presence or not of the ucmdbid should indicate that the data has gone across or otherwise.

no, in this case ucmdb ids will not go back to AM.
