Scan file processing of TCP connectivity and processes consumes resources for no benefit

I have found that the probe server is very busy processing TCP connections and reporting processes. This activity fills the probeMgr-adaptersDebug.log and in the case of some scan files will take hours to days to complete. However, when I check to see what CIs are created by this activity there is none. This consumes a lot of time and resources on the probe server for no benefit.

Is there some way to disable this processing?

Can this processing be limited to look for just the specific TCP connection and processes that are supported by this adapter?

Below is an excerpt from the log and you can see that it looks at every TCP connection and checks all 118 plugins but it does not actual return that data as the Host Application by Shell does. I don't expect the inventory job to do the same job as the script job but I also don't expect the inventory job to consume all the resources for none of the benefit.

Re: Scan file processing of TCP connectivity and processes consumes resources for no benefit

Is that you dont want those detials in to the scan file or you dont want it in UD itself ?

Re: Scan file processing of TCP connectivity and processes consumes resources for no benefit

I do want the details in UCMDB but I was told that because it is the inventory scan file and not the Host Application by Shell job that it would not create the process and ip service endpoints. So, if that is the case why then does the job do all the work to figure out the processes and TCP connections but returns no data?

Either it should return the data after doing the work or it should not spend the time and resources processing the discovered results.
