Shell permission and LPAR information

Hello,

I checked Host Connection by Shell job permission in UCMDB10.10 . It mentions:

Shell      exec      Discover Virtualization Info

AIX LPARS: lparstat -i
AIX: prtconf
IBM HMC: lshmc -V
IBM HMC: lshmc -n
Solaris Zones: ps -o zone
SunOS: /usr/bin/zonename

So this job can tell if it's running as Lpar?

We discovered some AIX servers, but I can't see any information for this on Unix CI type  if it's Lpar servers?

Why I can't get the infmation on Unix? Does anyone know that ?Or DO i have to activate IBM virtualization discovery then get the data?

Thanks

Shirley

Re: Shell permission and LPAR information

Shirley,

You are correct: to complete effective discovery of these devices ootb you will need to run:

Host Connection by Shell > Host Resources by Shell > IBM HMC by Shell > IBM LPAR and VIO by Shell

You may need to have sudo permissions added to the job to complete the discovery effectively.

Yours,

Erik
