The NEW Universal CMDB has arrived: HPE Universal CMDB 10.30 Release Announcement

It's an exciting time for the HPE Configuration Management System (CMS)

HPE CMS (Universal CMDB/Universal Discovery) version 10.30 has been officially launched!

Users are positioned for success in cloud and container environments with real-time event-based discovery, up to a 3x increase in performance and scalability, addition of the REST API, and more! Here are more details on the key capabilities introduced with this release:

  • Up to 3x performance and scalability improvement over CMS 10.22, with multi-threaded data-in!
  • Real-time data push from UCMDB to integrated products
  • Event Based real time discovery for cloud and container environments
  •  Impact and Get Related widgets embedded in Service Manger
  • Automated Service Modeling (ASM) can now discover non-web apps/services triggered from running software
  • Simplified troubleshooting of integrations and management of deployed hotfixes
  • REST API simplifying programmatic access to UCMDB
  • Content for AWS, Azure, OpenStack, Docker, VMWare, Cloud Foundry, and more!
  •  Discovery Troubleshooter Improvements using discovery progress widget
  • New storage discovery for NetApp Clusters and IBM SAN Volume Controllers
  • Oracle LMS updates with additional hardware related data in support of Oracle audit requirements
  • Service Now Integration performance improvements

Real-time discovery in the cloud

Real-time discovery of events in cloud environments allows HPE CMS to react and stay up-to-date in rapidly changing virtual environments. While most discovery tools have to be scheduled to find new changes (therefore potentially missing out on any happening in between scans), HPE CMS 10.30 allows "real-time" discovery to take place by tracking events in containers and virtualized environments,  then relaying the information back to the CMS. This improves the ability to perform service and asset management in the cloud as well, and best prepares companies in an ever-increasing cloud world!

Addition of the REST API for data integration

The popular REST API has been added in CMS 10.30 to add simplified programmatic access to HPE UCMDB. This allows for easier integrations into UCMDB, and in turn increased speed of UCMDB deployment!

Performance improvements

Also exciting in the HPE CMS 10.30 release is the work we did to drastically improve the speed and efficiency of the system as a whole. Users can expect an up to 3x performance and scalability improvement over CMS 10.22, with multi-threaded data-in! Check out the graphs below on details of management of CIs and more.

  More improvements with CMS 10.30!

  • Real-time data push from UCMDB to connected products like Service Manager and Asset Manager
  • Automated Service Modeling (ASM) can now discover non-web apps/services triggered from running software
  • Discovery Troubleshooter improvements using the discovery progress widget
  • Content for AWS, Azure, OpenStack, Docker, VMWare, Cloud Foundry, and more!

We're excited about these updates and how they will help customers as they continually evolve their digital transformation in IT. For more detailed information see:
