The new UI local client has been released

Hello Everyone,

UCMDB Local Client 2018.05 is available on SSO.

OS: Windows

Patch: UCMDB_00206

The main ER is https://softwaresupport.softwaregrp.com/group/softwaresupport/search-result/-/facetsearch/document/LID/QCCR1H122319

Change Request: QCCR1H122319:
  Symptom:
Most browsers dropped support for running Java applets (Chrome, Firefox,
    Edge).
From the supported browsers, only Internet Explorer is able to run Java
applets (but version 11 is the last one and its successor Edge does not run
    Java applets).
Java applets and Web Start are deprecated in Java 9 and will be removed in
future Java versions. Java 8 is the only LTS Java version that still
    supports applets.
Support for free Java 8 updates end soon (current announced date - January
    2019).
Premier support for Java SE 8 Deployment Technology (Java Web Start & Java
Plug In technologies) ends by March 2019 without any extended support.
  Resolution:
To make sure Admin Ui can still be usable, build UCMDB local client to run
admin UI as a native java application rather than an applet.

*Supported UCMDB versions*: The UCMDB Local Client tool supports UCMDB
    version 10.20 and later.
*Supported platform*: Windows platform still supported by microsoft for this
    release.

The local client can be used with 10.2x and 10.3x versions also and it can be a little bit faster than the legacy approach.

After you create your list of preferred UCMDB connections, it will save this list under %APPDATA%\Micro Focus\CMS\UCMDB Local Client\config.json. This file can be shared across clients or backed up.

In order to save the file config.json in a more convenient place, you can alter the parameter CMS_CLIENT_CONFIG from the file UCMDB Local Client.cmd

And in the launch script “UCMDB Local Client.cmd” we have a parameter called “CMS_CLIENT_CONFIG” you can manually change it to the path you want. This is documented in the attached PDF file from the local client release.

Kind regards,
Bogdan Mureșan

It will also display the days left for the license until it expires.
