UCMBD Tip: Application signature cannot be disabled for specific applications
Recently we've come across an issue that it is not possible to disable some application signatures in the applicationsSignature.xml from the UI. If you try to de-select such signature and confirm your choice, after you re-open the applicationsSignature.xml file, the signature will be selected again.
This happens any time where there are several signatures of the same type (e.g the 3 signatures for Oracle or 2 for Maxdb). If you de-select all 3 Oracle signatures or 2 Maxdb signatures at the same time and click OK, the change will be saved. If, however, you try to disable a specific one (e.g. you do not want to discover “Oracle by secondary processes” in case you are only interesetd to find Oracle by first signature), this is not possible with the current application signature mechanism.
Please note that an Enhancement Request has been opened regarding this issue.
As a workaround for this issue, it is possible to edit applicationssignatures.xml in Adapter management.
If you find that this or any post resolves your issue, please be sure to mark it as an accepted solution.”
