(UCMD Support Tip) - Issue with AVAYA telecom device Discovery by SNMP


There is a known issue with AVAYA telecom devices not getting discovered in UCMDB. SNMPWALK is working fine for these devices from the probe server yet they are not getting discovered correctly with the Universal discovery, Host Connection by SNMP job

NOTE: This has so far only been reported for AVAYA G450 Media Gateway devices other AVAYA devices (eg AVAYA Aura) are being discovered correctly

Other symptoms include:

-  EMPTY_VALUE is being returned as the sysObjectID and sysName in the communication log

-  The topology created by the discovery shows that the mac address is wrongly being used for the name in the created CI



This is a known defect, internal ref: OCTCR19U786608 , currently targeted to be fixed in Content Pack 2020.08. Please contact Micro Focus support in the meantime as it may be possible to provide a hotfix.
