Re: [UCMDB Browser] new release: 4.04

Can I upgrade to this version from 4.00.129 by unpacking the "HPUCMDB-Browser-4.04.100-tomcat-windows.zip"

Copy the conf\credentials.bin from the old to the new browser.

Run .\bin\service.bat install UCMDB-Browser

net start UCMDB-Browser

Re: [UCMDB Browser] new release: 4.04

Hello Gordon,

Thank you for that interesting question.

Your steps below are correct. Yes, you can start an upgrade from Browser 4.0 to any next minor version.
You can preserve credentials.bin, encryption.bin and ucmdb_browser_config.xml from the conf folder.
Just in case you need to recreate the credentials, you can use next steps:
1. Create a credentials.txt tile and put it in the same directory as the ucmdb_browser_config.xml file.
2. In the file credentials.txt, enter the following content:
user=<user-name>
password=<user-password>
Where user-name is the integration user's user name and user-password is the integration user's password.
After restarting the Tomcat server and then logging in to the UCMDB Browser, a new encrypted file credentials.bin
will be created and the file credentials.txt will be removed.

About the update procedure, in general you can run install_ucmdb_browser_service.bat from the root folder via cmd line.
That .bat file will run the one from the bin folder.

Lastly, please run the service named UCMDB-Browser to start the Browser.

Please note that during the first time start it will take more time to deploy ucmdb-browser.war

For more precise details please read on the Installation and Configuration Guide of the recent version - UCMDB_Browser_InstallConfig_4.04.pdf.
That and all other documents and media can be downloaded from the HP Live Network repository.
