UCMDB - Oracle Not Discovered by Scanner for UNIX

Hi,
We have UCMDB 10.21 Installed on Windows.
We have an Issue, where Oracle Installed Software is not getting discovered by Inventory Scanner Job.
Expected:  on the Scan File, it is showing the Oracle Directory and there is oracle 11g running on the Server. We want it to be discovered under Installed Software. The Oracle is installed on the Linux Server in the following directory:

/dev/oracle/app/oracle/product.

You can refer to the attachment, for the Path where oracle is installed, this is the screenshot from the scan file.

Actual:In UCMDB, for that CI there is no Oracle Installed Software discovered.

Can we know, what changes has to be met for this ?

Regards
Ashok

Re: UCMDB - Oracle Not Discovered by Scanner for UNIX

Hi Melissa,

Thanks again for your response.

We have CP17 Installed with the Latest Knowledge pack. 2015-12.

What we suspect is, by default UD Scanner is pointed to Default Locations to Check for Oracle instance like:

Linux                                            /etc/oraInst.loc

AIX                                                /etc/oraInst.loc

Solaris, HP-UX, Mac OS X       /var/opt/oracle/oraInst.loc

Windows                                     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ Software/Oracle/inst.loc

But in any Organization, Oracle can be installed on any Location on UNIX Systems like under /etc or /oracle or under /var etc.,

So, is there a way to make this pointer location dynamic to detect the Oracle Instances on UNIX/Linux/AIX?

We are running under a major issue, where we are not able to discover not even One Oracle DB on Unix systems for the Users using Scanner, which is making the management to suspect on the tool capability.

Regards

Ashok
