(UCMDB SUPPORT TIP) - Error connecting New DFP to uCMDB Server

When installing a new DFP to UCMDB 2018.11 , all the packages from previous versions are also downloaded from the Application Server.

Is it safe to remove all the old packages in the event of a requirement to reduce the space occupied by these packages on the DFPs and reduce the traffic to download these from the AS after the first installation ?

Response

Yes - it is safe to do this provided the procedure below is followed for each unwanted package :

1) UNDEPLOY the package using the UCMDB Package Manager
2) MANUALLY delete the associated zip and pkc files from the Probe installation directories
It is important that both these steps are done because step 1) just applies to the server - meaning that the package will no longer be downloaded when a new DFP is installed. Step 1) does not do any physical removal of existing files from the probe directories which is why step 2) needs to be done also.
