(UCMDB Support Tip) – CI's disappearing from RTSM

How to find deleted object details?

Trouble shooting this issue we have to track what is deleting this CI Best approach there to use getHistoryChanges on jmx to track who / which job delete it.

Here is sample that my ip address 1.1.1.10 [7e9cf510e8f07c2040e1ea0cb6dc724e] deleted from ucmdb . keep in your mind you need to object id to able get history data. You will get something like this from jmx console: Mbean: UCMDB:service=History DB Services. Method: getHistoryChanges Initial Data:null Changes:[Add object: Changer-Initialization: CMDB. Time-Fri Sep 15 17:23:11 MDT 2017(1505517791659).;HistObjectChangeInfoImpl{_cmdbObject={ip_address@7e9cf510e8f07c2040e1ea0cb6dc724e}@[(long-ack_cleared_time:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-ack_id:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-arp_mac:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-authoritative_dns_name:[Empty CMDB property value]), (bytes-calculated_id:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-city:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-codepage:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-country:[Empty CMDB property value]), (date-create_time:Wed Jul 19 16:32:06 MDT 2017), (string-credentials_id:[Empty CMDB property value]), (boolean-data_allow_auto_discovery:true), (string-data_externalid:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-data_note:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-data_origin:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-data_source:IP_IMPORT: DS_IP_IMPORT_Import topology from Excel Workbook), (string-description:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-digest:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-display_label:1.1.1.10), (string-document_list:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-global_id:7e9cf510e8f07c2040e1ea0cb6dc724e), (string-ip_address:1.1.1.10), (string-ip_address_property:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-ip_address_type:IPv4), (string-ip_address_value:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:ffff:0101:010a), (string-ip_dhcpdomainname:[Empty CMDB property value]), (boolean-ip_isbroadcast:[Empty CMDB property value]), (boolean-ip_isdhcp:[Empty CMDB property value]), (boolean-ip_ismanaged:true), (integer-ip_lease_time:0), (string-ip_netaddr:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-ip_netclass:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-ip_netmask:[Empty CMDB property value]), (integer-ip_nettype:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-ip_probename:Probe1), (boolean-is_save_persistency:false), (boolean-isvirtual:false), (string-language:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-name:1.1.1.10), (string-root_container:[Empty CMDB property value]), (boolean-root_enableageing:true), (string-root_iconproperties:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-root_system:[Empty CMDB property value]), (string-routing_domain:DefaultDomain), (string-state:[Empty CMDB property value]), (boolean-track_changes:false), (string-user_label:[Empty CMDB property value])]; layout properties=}, Remove Object: Changer-UCMDB: User:UISysadmin,LoggedInUser:sysadmin. If you close look, you will see that Remove Object: Changer-UCMDB: User:UISysadmin,LoggedInUser:sysadmin That means sysadmin user deleted from UI.

Re: (UCMDB Support Tip) – CI's disappearing from RTSM

Hello Petko,

theoretically you may be lucky to have it somewhere in the logs or some reports.

It's a last resort method.getHistoryChanges.

Curious enough, nobody submitted so far for a new feature to consume this data from the Solr cache of the Reconciliatipon Analyzer in such a manner that UCMDB would have a undo or recycle bin feature.

Maybe somebody will submit for such a new feature. Maybe.

Kind regards,
Bogdan Mureșan

Re: (UCMDB Support Tip) – CI's disappearing from RTSM

Interesting idea indeed. Seems that it already has a vote.

The idea submitter must be an experienced UCMDB administrator as it can be observed from the way the idea was formulated.

Let's hope that it will get visibility and more people will vote it.

Kind regards,
Bogdan Mureșan
