UCMDB Support Tip: Discovery job times out after 900000 ms or 15 minutes. How to change this value?
Every discovery job has a timeout of 900000 ms (15 minutes).
Please note this value can be changed. If the job is timing out, there will be an error pointing out to the 900000 ms value on the UI. An error such as the log entry below will be found in the probe logs:
jvm 17 | <2013-03-15 04:58:51,384> 1004098 [WARN ] [JobExecuterThread] (JobExecuter.java:2307) - Detected stuck Worker - JobExecuterWorker-0:z-Layer2 Topology VLAN based by SNMP_10.250.248.84, address: 10.250.248.84, Id:50e16e2ddad542335e28abcf2ed61e83 which has been running for 900 sec(max allowed: 900 sec )
As a workaround, you may try to increase the timeout value to determine if the job get complete. To do so, the following steps can be performed in order to increase the timeout value:
Right click on the job -> Go to adapter -> click on the 'Adapter Configuration' tab in the top right hand corner -> set the 'Max. Execution Time' to a higher value.
Quite often jobs just take a little more time to complete, therefore it is ok to increase the timeout value, however there could be other reasons why the job is taking a long time to complete. If increasing this value does not resolve the issue, it is best to open a ticket with Support to further investigate the discrepancy encountered.
If you find this or any post resolves your issue, please be sure to mark it as an accepted solution."
