UCMDB Support Tip : How to change account password for Postgres database on Probe server?

Issue description:

After the installation of Probe, how to change the password of Probe’s Postgres database?

 

Solution:

  1. Modify root account password for probe Postgres database:

Run set_root_password command from \UCMDB\DataFlowProbe\tools\dbscripts with current password and new password.

 

Example > set_root_password [new PostgreSQL root account password] [Current PostgreSQL root account password]

 

  1. Modify Data Flow Probe’s account for Postgres database:

 

a. Access the Probe JMX Console ,then invoke getEncryptedDBPassword operation to get Encrypted new password.

 

b. Stop Data Flow Probe service.

 

c. Run set_dbuser_password [new PostgreSQL Data Flow Probe account password] [PostgreSQL root account password] command

 

d. Change the three parameter in DataFlowProbe.properties file to the new encrypted password from Step a, above.

appilog.agent.probe.jdbc.pwd

appilog.agent.local.jdbc.pwd

appilog.agent.normalization.jdbc.pwd

 

e. Start Data Flow Probe service.
