UCMDB Support Tip: How to limit NNMi topology for CIs and be able to send only those CIs to uCMDB

If ever come to a scenario where one would like to limit the NNMi topology for CIs and be able to send only those CIs to uCMDB.

Please note, the CI selection for such integration is done via NNMi. As UCMDB just retrieves what is defined.

Such scenario could be done from NNMi side, by making a new “Topology Filter Node Group” profile on the Integration Module Configuration:

When one have done the new “Topology Filter Node Group” profile. Next step will be to rerun the integration, to accomplish such task.

If further details may be required, please contact HP Support.

Also, you should not synchronize all objects unless there is some requirement to have every interface (even unmanaged  and software interfaces), hardware boards, subnets, etc.

Make sure the checkbox for sending only managed objects is selected in almost every case.  It increases the speed of the integration significantly.

Hope this helps,
