(UCMDB) Support Tip – Software Signature not correctly recognizing JBoss 7

Topic

We run discovery pattern Host Resources and Applications by Shell to recognize JBoss processes. The created CI does not have correctly the config file name identified. In the comm log, it is trying to find the config file at the following path:

C:\hp\UCMDB\DataFlowProbe\bin/standalone-full-ha.xml

This is confusing since the first part of the path is from the probe server - not the target Linux server running the JBoss. The correct path to look at should be:

/opt/rh/eap7/root/usr/share/wildfly/standalone/standalone-full-ha.xml

Seems -Djboss.server.base.dir is not correctly recognized from the process.

Consequently when we run further deep JBoss discovery, the JBoss CIs are not reconciled correctly.

Response

  1. Use Basic Software_ Job. The step is Zone-Based Discovery->New Discovery Activity->Software Configuration->Basic. Then run the job and the job will appear in the plugin.
  2. For ValueError: Empty content, changed user's permission to parse the file.
