UCMDB Support Tip: UCMDB to Service Now Integration Issue

In the event one is unable to successfully Push CI’s to Service Now using Push Adapter from UCMDB.

While attempting to activate the same Integration Point the following error is obtained:

appilog.framework.shared.manage.impl.MamResponseException: [ErrorCode [-2147483648] undefined error code]
Metaspace : class java.lang.OutOfMemoryError :
CMDB Internal Error: Unknown error while
handling request: {request: ID='5eea8b36b04356a8504c6e7820e012a6' Message='General CMDB request'
Operation='com.hp.ucmdb.dataAccess.operations.DataAccessContainerQueryGetAdapterWrapper@a06a24d'
Customer ID='1, id name: Default Client'
Context='CMDB Context: Customer id = '1, id name:
Default Client' , User ID = '911' , Caller Application = 'UCMDB-UI,loggedInUser:{XXXX}''}

Please note, this indicates that the JVM is running out of memory. In more detail, the MetaSpace is out of memory.

This can be easily configured by following these steps:

1. Check the error.log of UCMDB server and DataFlowProbe. Depending on where the issue appears, increase the Meta Space for this system:

In case of UCMDB Server:

  • Edit the config file UCMDBServer/bin/wrapper-platform.conf
  • Increase wrapper.java.additional.31=-XX:MaxMetaspaceSize=192 to 512.

In case of DataFlowProbe:

  • Edit the config file DataFlowProbe/bin/WrapperGateway.conf and WrapperManager.conf
  • For each file, increase wrapper.java.additional.21=-XX:MaxMetapsaceSize=192 to 512

2. Reboot the service where one have applied the changes.
