UCMDB Support Tip : "Discovery Control Panel" GUI does not open

 

 

After clicking the "Discovery Control Panel" button in UCMDB 10.01, the "Discovery Control Panel" GUI may not open and the previous GUI remains unchanged.

 

The following error can be noticed in the Error.log:

 

java.sql.SQLException: [mercury][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Cannot resolve the collation conflict between "<abc>" and "<xyz>" in the equal to operation.

In page 18 of Notes and Limitations section in the Database guide ( http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM00245428 ), it is mentioned that

When working with Microsoft SQL Server, the CMDB collation and the SQL Server collation
must be the same in order for an upgrade to run properly.

Once the collation is corrected the "Discovery Control Panel" GUI should open without any issues.
