UCMDB Tip: Certain link types not present in UCMDB Browser when restricting user permissions

Certain link types might not be present in the UCMDB Browser when restricting user permissions via the Role Manager. Link types may be visible when View All permission is selected, but View All does not allow administrators to achieve granular permission control.

If a user has permissions on the CI Types  on both ends of a link, and the link is not a composite relationship, it will be necessary to specify a corresponding triplet in order for the link to be visible in the uCMDB Browser.

For example,  to ensure Usage links are visible in the browser:

1. Open CI Type Manager

2. Select Calculated Relationship, Triplets tab

3. Select Authorized Relationship Addition.

4. Add two Managed Objects with a Usage relationship

Usage links should now be visible in the Browser for users with permissions to view the Managed Object CIT
