UCMDB Tip: How to customize the UD Agent installation directory on UNIX systems?

The script agentinstall.sh contains the --installdir <dir> command line option that can be used to re-allocate the installation location of the UD Agent. In the <dir> parameter one can specify the required installation location. However, the installation will not be done directly in that location but rather in opt/HP/Discovery  subdirectory that will be created under it.

This issue has been addressed in CP12.0 Update 8. Please make sure that use this script as well as the agent packages from that CP update or later.

Please note that changing the default installation directory is only supported when the agent is deployed manually or using third party software distribution tools. The UD agent management jobs currently do not support modifying the default installation directory of the agent.

Please also note that this option is not support for Linux Debian package as the Debian packages do not support re-allocatable package feature.
