UCMDB Tip: How to determine UD Agent Version

Hello All,

If you need to check what version of the UD Agent is installed on a specific client or server machine, you can use one of the following:

  • All platforms:  Agent prints the version into the log file on start up, can be seen from the .swidtag file
  • Windows: Can be seen from Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs / Programs and Features  applet
  • UNIX/Mac OS X:

- using the following command (however, please note that it does not display the build):

strings discagnt | grep “Version:”

- The version of the agent can be retrieved from the package manager (differs per platform):

Linux (RPM):  rpm -qi hp-ud-agent

Linux (Deb):   dpkg --list hp-ud-agent

HP-UX:             swlist hp-ud

AIX:                    lslpp -L hp-ud.hp-ud-agent

Solaris:             pkginfo hp-ud-agent

Please note that agent’s build number matches to the build of scanners/inventory tools, but not of UCMBD server or Data Flow Probe.

Regards,

Irina
