UCMDB Tip: How to keep all scan files in the Probe Processed folder?

When scan files are deleted from the Processed directory on the Probe? Is there a mode to deactivate the deletion of the scan files?

Please note that only old scan files are deleted from the <DataFlowProbe_Install_Dir>\runtime\xmlenricher\Scans\processed folder. If it is required to keep all scan files in that directory, you can do the following:

  • On the Probe machine please navigate to <DataFlowProbe_Install_Dir>\conf and open Dataflow.properties file
  • Please find the following setting under “###Start of Inventory Discovery section” :
    com.hp.ucmdb.discovery.inventory.scanners.xmlenricher.systemcleanup.orphan=40
  • This setting specifies the number of days of how old the scan files are before they are deleted; the default vaue is 40, i.e. the scan files that are older than 40 days are deleted. If this setting is increased to a bigger number (e.g. 1000), then this limit will be increased.

Please note that keeping all scan files will take a lot of disc space, also you will be keeping scan files for the machines that no longer exist.
