UCMDB Tip : Unable to search or add the Oracle Schema on UCMDB Browser
Out-of-The-Box (OOTB), Oracle schema is not configured to be searchable by browser and is not configured to be presentable by browser.
To enable search for Oracle shemas, do the following:
1. Configure the CIT "oracle schema" to be searchable:
a. In CIT Manager, select CIT Oracle schema and click "Qualifiers" tab.
b. in the lower right coner of the screen, enter "CMS_BROWSER_SEARCH" in the box and click "Insert"
c. Select qualifier "MODELING_ENABLED", and move to to the right pane of the windows. Thus, we have made oracle schema "browser searchable" and "modeling enable".
2. On the "Attributes" tab of CIT Oracle schema, edit attribute "name" and select/check the following box: "CMS Browser Visible", "CMS Browser Searchable"
3. Now, configure browser to search for oracle schema:
a. Open UCMDB JMX console (http://localhost:8080/jmx-console) and click UCMDB:service=URM Services > listResourceTypes
b. click "Topology_INDEXER_CONFIGURATION" then click the xml resource and insert the following into the xml if it doesn't already exist, then click "Save Resource"
c. Back to listResourceTypes JMX and click Topology_RANKING_CONFIGURATION, then click the xml resource and insert the following into the xml and click "Save Resource":
into the section below:
d. Now, back to JMX console and click UCMDB:service=Topology Search Services > reindex
4. Log out of the browser and log back in. Now, try to search for oracle schema.
Note : Adding the MODELING_ENABLED is only necessary if all other steps fail and you do not have a clue why the CIs do not appear in browser. If you do everything correctly according to the documents, MODELING_ENABLED is not necessary.
Please contact HP Support in case you plan to carry out the above steps.
If you find that this or any post resolves your issue, please be sure to mark it as an accepted solution.”
