UD agent start/stop/restart/status commands in Solaris and AIX

Hello All,

We are trying to run below UD agent start, stop, status commands, but it is not working for some Solaris, AIX servers throwing error Unexpected parameter.

Tried Commands-

Check Agent status => ./discagnt status

Restart UD agent =>  ./discagnt restart

Stop UD agent =>  ./discagnt stop

Start UD agent =>  ./discagnt start

Below is error-

Usage: discagnt [-p <num>] [-v] [-u] [-r] [-s] [-k <str>] [--fips] [-m <num>] [--temp] [--movedfrom <str>] [--wait <str>] [--npipe-server <str>] [--npipe-client <str>] [--npipe-relay <str>] [-t <str>] [--npipe-listen] [--newuniqueid] [--agent-options]

  -p, --port=<num>      SOAP listening port
  -v                    Be verbose, send logs to log file.
  -u                    Generate usage informations
  -r, --restart         Enable self restart in case of a crash
  -s                    Notify agent restarts after a crash.
  -k:<str>              Kill processes
  --fips                Enable FIPS
  -m, --timeout=<num>   SOAP receive timeout sec
  --temp                Temporary mode
  --movedfrom=<str>     Temporary mode second stage
  --wait=<str>          Wait for <n> secs and exit
  --npipe-server=<str>  Server on named pipes: <name>,<reply text>
  --npipe-client=<str>  Client named pipes: <server>,<name>,<send text>
  --npipe-relay=<str>   Relay between named pipe/tcp localport: #pipename,port num or port-num,#server:pipename
  -t, --trace=<str>     Enable internal trace mechanism.
  --npipe-listen        Listen on named pipe.
  --newuniqueid         Generate new unique id
  --agent-options       Default agent options

Unexpected parameter 'start' <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<error

We had checked in different UD version also 10.31 and 10.33. Please help us to resolve this issue.

Please if you have the possibility to open a ticket directly with UCMDB Micro Focus support team open it with the same information that you put in your questions. 

Since this could be caused by other things into the app and requires a deep research.

Hi Preeti,

 

the discagent executable doesn't have option from start, stop, status. These options are written in the init.d script. So to do what you want, please use:

 

/etc/init.d/discagent status

Please run following commands :

For Solaris
/opt/HP/Discovery/discagent stop
/opt/HP/Discovery/discagent start
/opt/HP/Discovery/discagent status

For AIX
/usr/lpp/HP/Discovery/discagent stop
/usr/lpp/HP/Discovery/discagent start
/usr/lpp/HP/Discovery/discagent status
