UD and credentials

Hello all,

to my knowledge, UD in a first run tries all credentials configured for a specific activity job. Then, the successful credential is cached somewhere on the probe und used on all following job schedules. Does anyone know where and how these successful credentials are stored?

Thanks,

Uli

Re: UD and credentials

Hi Uli,

The preferred ("succesful") credentials are not stored at the probe side, but on the spcific trigger CIs, in the form of a credential ID value. At the probe side, the actual credential values are retrieved from the domain scope document using the gived credentials ID.

For example, for the SSH protocol (used by HC, HA, HR jobs), the succesful credentials are stored in the Shell CI, as the value of the "Reference to the credentials dictionary entry" (credentials_id) attribute.

Depending on the job, the CI on which the credentials are stored can vary. To give you another example, for the SQL topology jobs, the credentials are stored on the SQl Server CI, which is a trigger for these jobs.

Hope this helps!

Thanks and regards,

Ioana
