UDA Agent Installation question Linux

I have a customer that wants to install the Linux agent so that the software utilization statistics are saved to a non-default location.  I found that when using the --home parameter in the agent install it seems to break the inventory by scanner.  However, if I use the default location the scanner works fine.  From what I can tell from the comm log is that the scanner is executed successfully but for some reason it is unable to retrieve the scan file.  Any ideas why this is happening?  This is UCMDB v.10.22 CUP4 CP20

This is the command we are using:

bash /opt/hpudagent/agentinstall.sh --async hp-ud-agent-linux-x64.rpm --port 2738 --period 365 --home /opt/hpudagent --cert /opt/hpudagent --softwareutilization --timeout 259200

If we eliminate the --home parameter the inventory works properly.  I guess I'm not sure what the correlation between the agent home directory and the inventory scanner is.
