Viewing federated CI's in UD-Browser.

HI  all,

We are having an In-house Application.

We have successfully integrated In-house Application with the uCMDB server and federated the CI's.

And we have enabled the "Show search on Federated CI's" in Infrastructure settings. But still we can't able to view the CI's in UD-Browser that are federated from the In-house application.

Thanks in Advance,

Kapil.

Re: Viewing federated CI's in UD-Browser.

Hi kapilraskal,

Could you try to search for federated CIs in uCMDB server?

If your intergration point is success and you find federated CIs in uCMDB, then you will find these in Browser.

Best regards.

Hoang

Re: Viewing federated CI's in UD-Browser.

If the search engine is enabled, then in Topology Search JMX, perform the following:

    • reindex: This recreates a search index for CIs in the UCMDB model. Note, this can take up to several hours for large databases (approx 1M CIs/hour).

Re: Viewing federated CI's in UD-Browser.

kapilraskal,

In case you are on UCMDB 9.04 CUP 5 or earlier, you also have to edit the ucmdb_browser_config.xml file and set the federated_search_enabled flag to true

<federated_search_enabled>true</federated_search_enabled>

Re: Viewing federated CI's in UD-Browser.

Hi Kapilraskal

Please note the below point .

"The search on federated data can only be performed if it is enabled. By default, it is

disabled.

The search for federated CIs according to their display names (or sub-string of their display

names) is performed if the CI type has been configured for this."

I am attaching Installtion and Configuration Guide for HP uCMDB Browser Please Refer Page 46 and Follow as stated

Cheer 🙂

Re: Viewing federated CI's in UD-Browser.

Hi oOHangOo,

We are using uCMDB Version 10.10.

The Integration point in uCMDB is success and CI's also getting federated, But still the result is same.

We are using uCMDB Dynamic Widget to federate the CI's from the in-house application Integration point (Datasource).

Thanks in advance,

Kapil.

Re: Viewing federated CI's in UD-Browser.

Kapil,

I would verify that federated search is enabled in the JMX

Go to the JMX Console > UCMDB:service=Settings Services

you can either setSettingValue for cmdb.federation.search.enabled to true

or look at the current setting with showSettingsByCategory and leave category blank

If Browser is setup so that CIs with the qualifier CMS_BROWSER_SEARCH are only visible in Browser, make sure the CI Type is assigned the qualifier CMS_BROWSER_SEARCH in the CI Type Manager

You may have to reindex.

If your CIs are still not searchable in Browser, edit the Search_Ranking_Configuration_XML file
