Re: Which CI type includes fields like Mgt Port IP, Type of Nics and no. of NICS?

Please check the CI type, "Interface".
* Mgt Port IP: I'm not sure about this as my client uses a custom attribute to populate this value.
* Type can be obtained from the attribute Interface Type.
* If you create a query like, Node-->composition-->Interface, you should be able to say how many Interfaces are connected to a specific host.

Hope this helps.

From UCMDB standpoint Mgt Port IP is just another interface. So, if the IP is in the probe range and asnwering on pings it will be added. If the software running behind the IP is supported (F5, for instance has support) the host CI will be created and connected to IP.

Feel free to ask additional questions.

Yes, that makes sense.
Page 857 on Discovery and Integration guide (uCMDB 9.05) might help.

* A Layer 2 switch can be connected to its ports directly or through a VLAN.
* The Bridge CIT represents the basic MAC address (Network Interface Card) on which the ports are located.
* Each port on the switch can be connected to a host or interface object (the end user machines)
by a Layer 2 CI, or to a port-switch by a Backbone link.
