best practice to keep global id constant

Jump to solution

ucmdb 10.01 cup8 cp 12

Running numerous snmp jobs (range, arp table, ip  mac harvesting, host networking, vlan tolpology, merge vlan by ports, mainframe, tcp data, host connection, host application, host resoruce) and finding global id is changing on CI that these jobs discover.

Is there way specify which job is to specify the global id and all other jobs only can update and not create a new global id.

Is there a best practice around how to affect the merge process to limit the change in global id.

There seems to be this control at the integration point level using reconciliation priority, but it does not seem to exist at the job or protocol level.

Kedem;

The only reason the global ID is changing is because it is merging CIs.
