configure ucmdb to a new Database instance

Hi Support,

Currently the UCMDB version 10.33 is running. But the existing DB OS server need to be upgraded and hence a new DB instance shall be setup. The existing data shall be moved to the new DB with the same version.

The existing UCMDB application need to be pointed to the new DB instance. Thinking if anyone could share the procedure to achieve the same.

Re: configure ucmdb to a new Database instance

Hello,

You can check disaster&recovery procedure for details. Basically it depends how long the downtime is allowed.

If the DB server is installed on a new  server with the newer OS version, then :

   1. in a maintenance window without any data in stop the server and do a db backup

   2. restore the ucmdb DB backup on the new DB server

   3. run ucmdb \bin\configure,bat to reconnect to a new schema.(you can backup ucmdb conf folder before)

4.start ucmdb. It should be up.

Ideally test this in a test env before if possible.

Best Regards,
