<UCMDB Support tips> how to avoid RC=4 error when assetTag is blank

Issue description:

when running scanner under enterprise mode, If there is no Asset tag, the scan file will not be generated dur to RC=4 error.

Assettag is read from a txt file on local disk.

If there is no assettag information in the txt file, assettag should be generated using hostname and the scan file is generated correctly.

Solution:

this issue can be resolved by configuring the cxz file as:

  1. Keep the original asset tag field that extracts the data from a file, but assign it to another field
  2. Create another asset field, which will be used as a backup in case the file does not exist or contains an empty value
  3. Finally create the Asset Tag field as a sequence field. This way if the asset tag could not be extracted from the file successfully, the default logic will be used and it will be assigned the default asset tag - combination of the host id and MAC address
