<uCMDB Support Tip> test connection and run command via NTCMD

Issue description:

In case we need to test if probe can establish a connection between probe and target host or run some command to check return value, we can use HPCmd.exe to do that.

HPCmd.exe was named xcmd.exe in older versions of uCMDB.

Solution:

You can create a ntcmd connection as per the below steps:

  1. Go to the Probe machine, Click on Start > Run and type exe.

  2. In the command line, go to <drive>\hp\UCMDB\DataFlowProbe\runtime\probeManager\discoveryResources>HPCmd.exe \\<ip_of_target_machine> /user:domain\username cmd.exe

If it is successful you should either get a prompt for password or direct access to remote computer command line where you can run commands.

Hao Yang
