uCMDB 2019.05 - Child CIT's attribute not visible in Report section

Hi,

We have observed that attributes have been removed from the Reporting section in uCMDB.

In uCMDB 10.33,when Node CI Type is used in the view,  all the attribute of Node CIT + all attributes of Unix CI Type can be added in the reporting section.

But in uCMDB 2019.05 when Node CI Type is used in the view, all attribute of Node can be added + no attribute of Unix CI Type can be added in the reporting section.

Following key attributes of Unix CIT are missing in the report now when we have the Node CIT in view

  • Os Architecture
  • Kernel Version

Is this a expected behaviour with latest uCMDB version or it is bug with 2019.05 version??

How can we get the child CIT attribute in the reporting section?

Thanks & Regards,

Rohit S

Sorry, that was Kernel Version and not the Kernel.

Have you faced this issue ?

Re: uCMDB 2019.05 - Child CIT's attribute not visible in Report section

Hi @RohitSS,

for me the behavior which you are explaining is the Out of the box one and the way the system should be working. If you add a Node CI, you can only show the attributes defined on node level or up. I have never seen how child CI type (Unix,Windows) attributes can be added to a query for Node.

Hi @popadiyski,

Old Report Created in uCMDB 10.33, accessible from uCMDB 2019.05:-

  1. OS Architecture Attribute available & hence selected in the Report section (Report Layout)

New report created in 2019.05:-

1. OS Architecture Attribute not available in the Report section (Attributes)

2. OS Architecture Attribute not available in the Report section (Report Layout)

Re: uCMDB 2019.05 - Child CIT's attribute not visible in Report section

@RohitSS maybe it was possible, but it sounds like a bug to 10.33 or some undocumented feature.

Nowhere else are the child attributes available on the parent properties list. And furthermore your query can be changed super easily by defining Computer instead of Node, where the actual OS Architecture attribute is defined. Either way, you will not get UDAgents on NetDevices.

Re: uCMDB 2019.05 - Child CIT's attribute not visible in Report section

@popadiyski

We have some VMs discovered as Node(which are not yet discovered through UD Agent) therefore the requirement was to have all Nodes (Node CIs, Computer CIs, Windows & Unix CIs ) in the single report with some of the attributes specifics to Node CIT, Windows CIT and Unix CITs.

This was working in uCMDB 10.30 and 10.33. I have had created couple of reports which has the child CIT's attribute (with the uCMDB version < 11.x)  in it.

Thanks & Regards,
