uCMDB - CI verification and approval workflow

Hi HP,

Currently we are using uCMDB 10.01.

There are many CIs details are not manage to discover by uCMDB e.g. Location, Owner, Asset Number, PO Number, others hardware components(Not on network) & etc which required manual update.

To verify the correctness of data which entered manually, management is asking whether uCMDB have an approval workflow which only allow CIs to be effective after certain level of approval done?

e.g User A create new CI instances (Server xxx) and it’s only take effect after User B & user C review and approve in uCMDB.

Re: uCMDB - CI verification and approval workflow

Hi,

Configuration Manager can do some things in regards to the correctness of data through the policies.

For the approval flow, maybe the authorization process, but that's about changes on CI level. Any changes in a view that is managed in CM, new CIs, changes in the attributes, removed CIs can be analyzed and authorized. They will go into the authorized state after that.

Regards,

Hi,

In the guide you can find some example of some out of the box policies and how those can be used, page 14.

Thanks,
