uCMDB Support tip - "invalid stored block lengths" error after CP 12.07 installation

In case uCMDB 10.01 Content Pack (CP) 12.07 installation fails with the following error in the mam.packaging.log:

java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid stored block lengths

[ErrorCode [-2147483648] undefined error code]

Error adding Content Pack Version [12.07.979]

…………………………………………………………………………………

 

This is not a problem of CP 12 Update 7 and this issue refers to deployment procedure.

 

If you still didn’t install CP 12.07 and would like to avoid the problem then please follow to this installation instructions:

 

1. Shut down UCMDB server.

2. Put CP12_Update_7_installation.zip file into <UCMDBServer root folder>

3. Unzip CP12_Update_7.zip from CP12_Update_7_installation.zip into <UCMDBServer root folder>\content\content_packs\

4. Only Now start up UCMDB server and continue usual CP installation:

    • Or go to the package manager, click “Install Content Pack”  button, etc
    • Or use appropriate JMX function

 

If you already tried to install CP 12.07 and it was success then you need do nothing, all should be good.

 

If you already tried to install CP 12.07 and failed with error above then follow this installations instructions:


1. Shut down UCMDB server.

2. Unzip CP12_Update_7.zip file from CP12_Update_7_installation.zip

3. Open CP12_Update_7_installation.zip for editing and find version.dat file

4. Open version.dat for editing and change: 12.07.979 to 12.07.981. Please be accurate change only 2 last decimals, do not add new lines, and any another changes

5. Save version.dat file, and make sure that this file is saved in CP12_Update_7_installation.zip

6. Place this CP12_Update_7.zip into <UCMDBServer root folder>\content\content_packs\

7. Only Now start up UCMDB server and continue usual CP installation:

    • Or go to the package manager, click “Install Content Pack”  button, etc
    • Or use appropriate JMX function

 

Main difference in instructions above from usual CP installing procedure : UCMDB server must be turned off during the copying process of CP12_Update_7.zip into <UCMDBServer root folder>\content\content_packs\

 

Meanwhile R&D will continue investigation of this issue to avoid it in future.
